I know our Freshman & Sophs. did not fare well vs. Montini.

How about Jacksonville? Anyone know?

The SHG JV won 50-12 and the SHG Freshman won 42-12. Also, the freshman game against Lincoln on Saturday 9/13 has been postponed until Tuesday 9/16.

Someone else will have to give you the scores, but I want to say Montini won both games by two or three TD's.

Montini had about 48 or 49 freshmen (50% more than SHG) and they were big and fast.

I stood behind their bench for a while (for some shade) and their coaches had the kids pumped up, and kept them that way. Every time they gave instructions to a player the response was "yes sir" or "yes, coach". I bring this up only because I used to work that sideline with the chain crew, and freshmen on many of the teams we played were nowhere near that respectful to their coaches.

The Montini progam really has it going in the right direction.

I would love to see us keep them on the schedule.

Me too.  All it would require would be that they talk their conference foe for week eight (Elgin St. Edward) into moving that game up to week one, freeing them to play us in week eight.  But first, St Edward would have to get non-conference for hampshire to move their game to week eigt.  But before that...

IOW - one more game - next year up there.
Respect ALL  . . . Fear NONE

Both did very well against JAX.  A few names & details for those interested:

Frosh won, 42-12.  Slow start...0-6 at halftime. But, came roaring back in 2nd half.  TJ Faulkner ran hard for a TD, Connor Bland 4 TD's as WR, Alex Sepanski & Neil Aherin great playing, Big catches from Ridge Ackerman and O & D lines were tough!..with Connor Peters, Ben Ketchum, etc.

JV won big too.  50-12.  Connor Bland QB thru 3Q's, did well, 2 TD passes, probably 10 of 12 for 250+yds.  Jake Williams had a 90yd interception TD return & Greg Wilson ran all over them with 4 TD's of his own...many yards!  45 yd TD pass to either Kyle French or Everette Nelson, Both O & D lines looked solid and d-backs were tough too.  John McDermott & Josh Hupp contributed alot for win also.

Also, Tuesday's game will be Frosh 1st half, JV 2nd half...game starts at 4pm at SHG w. campus.

So Connor Bland is a Freshman who QB'd 3 quarters for the Soph team?  AND he caught 4 TD passes in Freshman game?  Who is this kid?

That may not be a accurate account of the talent between the two teams. Springfield has several Soph's that are starters on the varsity that do not play the jv games.
