Pantherfan,

What is the word from down there about this game?

Sounded like Glenwood had a little trouble stopping Marion in the second half - tons of 4th down conversions for Marion.

Here's to a hard-fought, injury-free game!

awwwman,

I know our defense will have to have a great game for us to have a chance.

I am sure both teams will be ready to go. If you play on coming to the game, have a safe trip and make sure you bring your appetite. The chili, pork chop sandwiches and shish ke-babs are delicious.

Good Luck to Chatham Glenwood!

Unfortunately, I will be unable to make it - staying in DeKalb to watch my NIU Huskies pound UMass into oblivion.

Mitch Kimble (QB) is headed up here to play ball next year, right?

From his highlight videos on youtube, it really looks like the kid can play - looks to be very fast and is a very capable thrower on the run. The game will most likely come down to which team can get a defensive stop early and capitalize. A 14 pt. lead may be too much to come back from with the rate at which both can score.

In my many years of following high school football, I don't think I have ever met such a wonderful young man in Mitch Kimble. I think anyone that meets him and talks to him for 5 minutes would become a fan, even if you were his opponent. The NIU fans are in for a treat.

I look forward to seeing him play down the road.

I will be unable to listen to the game. Wondering if anyone is willing to periodically update the score on this thread so I can check on my phone.

I should be listening to the SHG game, and I'm sure they'll mention this game during the broadcast.  Otherwise, there is a place on 1450's website that you can register for score updates via text.

You obviously don't have little kids.  How old are ya?  You in DeKalb now?

Nope. I'm 24 and a third-year law student at NIU (had to throw myself into NIU fandom on account of the fact that the Illini are just so hard to watch). I'm a big fan of CS8 football - I graduated from Glenwood in 2006 and played football while there.

Chatham won.  I just don't know the score.

Sorry.  My updates for this were on the SHG v Jax thread.

It was 35-0, Chatham halfway through the 3rd.

Sorry.  Sounds like it's 42-0 at half.  At least that's the last update that Madonia has on 1450.  Running clock and Chatham will be at SHG next week.

Final Score Chatham Glenwood 42 Jersey 21

Well we got beat by a better team today. I wish Glenwood luck as they continue but honestly I will be rooting for SHG to win and go on and win the 5A state championship.

I am posting more on the Jerseyville thread.

Sorry your season ended today Pantherfan but congrats to you guys for a really good season. It is not easy to win 10 games in a season. The Glenwood offense is really tough to stop this year and there's no shame losing to a team of that quality.
