The SHG JV Team does NOT have a game against Southeast Saturday September 11th do to Southeast not having enough players to field a team. However, the SHG JV has scheduled a game against North Mac in Virden at 11:00 AM.

First, I am happy that they get to play a game.  Taking a week off would really stink.

Second, Isn't North Mac a new school district?  They have more Soph. football players than Southeast?

I think its just a new consolidation of schools that already played football. Virden and Girard if I'm not mistaken.

But you are right. Its sad that SE can't get enough guys out to field a JV team.

That is a sad state of affairs, and not likely to get better in the forseeable future, eh?

That is correct... Girard & Virden, former arch rivals, are now consolidated.

Arch rivals??  Do you mean to tell me that they were evenly matched?
:)

No, what I mean is that for years the Girard/Virden game was the equivalent of SHG/Glenwood. Perhaps I should have used "bitter rivals".

Pretty much, they were. acually.  Both played second fiddle to Auburn in the PSC, but between them i was usually a dogfight.

I believe the final was something like 44-22. The score at half was 32-6 with North Mac scoring as time expired. Team looked solid with outstanding defense. Special teams brought back a couple of touchdowns.
