All.... "Catch22"  over on Edgys board has been putting this out for a couple of years. He does a good job. Note that this changes from week to week because this seeding is based on if the playoffs started today.

Having said that though the closer it gets to the end of the season the higher the predicted accuracy. Should St. Laurence and SHG finish  7-2 (both are projected with that record)  and they were to open up against each other St. Laurence gets home field with more playoff points.

But that is not a done deal quite yet. One has to win their games. The Vikings out of the CCL White conference have a big game in week nine. I like them beating Aurora Christian this week and they have a good shot at defeating St. Ignatius in the season finale. If  that happens they finish 8-1 and that changes the seeding.

Regardless the southern bracket looks to have some problematic teams in it. As it should be this time of the year. Crete Monee, NLP. and Community West will all be a handful for everyone in the bracket. It's going to be fun how this all shakes out when the official seedings are announced Saturday afternoon in week nine. Ratsy

Yep, it's gonna get tough early for this Cyclone team.

Anyone have thoughts on the rest of the regular season - specifically this Friday v SHS?
We need to come out ready to play and not wait until the second half like we did vs Rochester.
We will be at home and on turf which i think helps us.
Just wonder what changes - if any - and what approach we'll take to this game - mostly run and some pass etc.?

FYI - SHS vs. Macarthur this year.

All.... Here are the latest projections from Steve Soucie a writer for the Kankakee Daily Journal. He has been doing this for quite some time. FD23, all I'm gonna say about the Springfield game is that we will put forth our best effort of the year.

Bold prediction Cyclops :)  But I agree.
From the start, we need to play at least as well as we did in the second half at Rochester...
Weather forecast appears to be another great night for HS football.

don’t know about YouTube but it will be on NFHS network. It would be nice to have a sps channel 22 ‘guide’ to know what’s coming on next on that YouTube channel.

All.... Some more conjecture from another board for this week. This is based on calpreps projections and IHSA seedings . The class 6A enrollment postseason numbers 1381 (Chatham) - 1865 (Rockford (Auburn). Included of course is Montini Nazareth, and SHG due to the success factor rule.

No break down of the north and south brackets of 16. But possible first round opponents. For SHG based on a 7-2 record.

Quincy 13%
Danville  11%
Providence 11%
Lansing (TFS) 10%
Hindsdale South 9%

All.... There are still a ton of variables heading into this last week of the regular season. Providence looks to finish 6-3, but they have a big game with Chicago (Mt. Carmel) Friday. Should they lose they could end up being the highest 5-4 seed among three teams with that record That would put them in as a #14 seed in the southern bracket if the remaining 15 team qualifying projections hold.  As it applies to SHG should they prevail in week 1 of the postseason they would be on the road in week two against Shepard or NLP. Of course all of this is guess work at best. Ratsy

#14 NLP (5-4) @ #3 Shepard (8-1)

#11 Lansing (TFS) (6-3) @ #6 SHG (7-2)

All.... Just out the projections from Steve Soucie. Similar to the ones I just posted a few minutes ago with one BIG exception.  The #1 and 2 seeds in the southern bracket. As it applies to SHG I like this one much better for obvious reasons. Still as always it's guesswork until the regular season is finished. Ratsy

Upper (North)

#16 Crystal Lake (Central) @ #1 Prairie Ridge
#9 Cary-Grove @ #8 Chicago (Mather)
#13 St. Ignatius @ #4 Riverside brookfield
#12 Montini Catholic @ #5 Hoffman Estates

Thanks again, Rat, for all the good work you do.

Either way you look at it, good chance we would be on the road in Week 3. Of course, we have to continue to get stronger and play with passion or we'll be in the weight room early.

All....  At the moment I'm just looking forward to Friday's SHG/Eisenhower game.  One game at a time of course.  In Soucie's latest scenario if SHG got by Quincy they would be on the road in week two regardless of the winner of the Peoria/Shepard game. In the other grouping of four I could see Providence beating Chatham and Community West making it into round three. If SHG survived week one and two the Celtics would play at KL Stadium in round three.

All of this is pure speculation. I believe there is going to be more movement in the initial seeding process after all of the week nine games are done. Ratsy

True, never should underestimate the Celtics. Their three losses are not the same as other team's losses
