The forum is quiet, so I will post this since it is close to SHG: Congratulations to Jacksonville Our Saviors 7th Grade Boys Basketball Team for winning the Class 1A State Basketball Championship! Any news on Christ the King?

If you haven't heard yet, they won 55-42 for 3rd place. Daily had 19 and McDonald had 16 to lead the way.

Seeing this is already bball, anybody notice the Cyclone frosh beat SHS by 10 last night for the City frosh title? Young Cycs finished 20-3, avenging one loss to Spfld (twice) and avenging another loss to Lincoln by maybe 17 up there. The only other loss was an OT homer job at MacArthur that would've made the officials in Normal (Capitol Conference Days) look fair-minded.

Congrats to the freshman: City Champs

Unfortunately, recent history tells us that Freshman and grade school successes don't usually translate into SH-G varsity basketball victories.

On the topic of basketball, I'd like to congratulate the Blazers on an excellent season. I saw more Blazers games this year than I have in past years, and I enjoyed their play. There was no quit in them. The game against Springfield last night for the regioanl title was hard-fought to the very end. The girls were excellent representatives of the school.
