I don't see any point to picking 5A, do you?  After all, we know hoew everyone had BETTER pick it.  Right? gocycs.gif

So as some TV guy in my youth used to say:  "And Awwaaayyy we go!"

Games, Pick winner, Three ponts per correct choice:

Class 1A, two brackets:

13-0 Tuscola  v.  13-0 Aledo

Class 2A,  two brackets:

13-0 Westville v.  13-0 Maroa-Forsyth

Class 3A, Quads:

13-0  Plano v.  13-0  St. Joseph-Ogden

Class 4A, two brackets:

12-1 Addison Driscoll  v.  11-2  Breese Mater Dei

Class 6A, two brackets:

12-1 Batavia   v.  13-0 Normal Community

Class 7A, two brackets:

12-1 lake Zurich v.  12-1 Chicago St. Rita

Class 8A, two brackets:

13-0  Wheaton-Warrenville South  v.  12-1 Chicago Mt. Carmel

The Papists WILL win two classes, could win as many as four.  The Ottoplier at it's finest  :goodjob:

Extra credit questions, three points each, if a tie, all get points

EC1:  Which of the eight winners (including 5A) will score the most points?

EC2:  How many shutouts will there be (choose 0-8, including 5A)

EC3:  How many classes will be WON by private schools?

EC4:  Which of the eight classes will be the biggest blowoout (score discrepancy between winner and loser)?

EC5:   How many (0-8) games will be decided in overtime?

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if together St. Rita, Batavia and Driscoll score the most points, but y'gotta pick just one.

Can we clarify something really quickly?

For extra credit # 1, should we be answering with a Class or with a team?

Thanks,
josh

Does it matter to your scoring?  Otherwise, I don't see that it makes any difference.  All the school names are unique.

Anyone recall?  When was HV a coach at Griffin?)\

Here is what I am thinking:

QUOTE
EC1: Which of the eight winners (including 5A) will score the most points?

Cyclone1 answered "Dricoll," but, I know that is supposed to be "Driscoll."  So, Cyclone1 gets the 3 points if and only if Driscoll scores the most points this weekend.

gusdog answered answered "3A."  So, he would get the three points if EITHER Plano OR St Joes Ogden scored the most.

How about this...if people answer with a class, I will assume that they think the team they picked for that class will indeed win AND score the most points.  That seems logical.
Therefore, for gusdog, I am taking his answer to be St Joseph-Ogden for EC1.

Fair enough?

The wording of the EC question was:  "EC1: Which of the eight winners (including 5A) will score the most points?"

Seems to me that the best way tointerpret that is to de-link the questions.

E.G. - Suppose I picked Batavia to win 6A but Normal blew them out 54-7

Suppose I also picked 6A as the class where THE WINNER would score the most points.

I'd be wrong about the winner, but right about the class. If I understand your Cyclone1 example, he said Driscoll and 3A.  Now, if BMD wins the class by blowout he loses those three points for the winner, BUT would still be entitled to the EC because that class winner thre the biggest score.

The way I'd treat it is this.  If a person picks Normal, say, and again picked Normal for EC1, just put his EC1 pick down as 6A.  That make sense?

This is exactly what I thought you were asking when I made my selections, which is why I selected Class 3A.

Hud 'the stud' Venerable was an assistant coach in the Robin Cooper era of the mid 80's when Griffin lost to Geneseo in the '82 finals played in Normal.

In response to OldFan:

Fair enough, man.  So the question is really, "Which class will produce the winner with the most points?"

Ok, cool.  So, everyone's answer to that will be the class.

Thanks,
josh
