Tied 7-7 in second quarter. Which team really wants to play next week?

Well, Lemont must have poured it on and they must want it pretty badly, cuz they are up 28-7 at the half!

FOUR

Looks like another "great running team", though they usually wind up passing a lot more against the Cycs

I meant 3 turnovers in the last 2:30 of the 2nd quarter.

sorry, my error

Lemont had by far the easiest route to the finals.  The Northern bracket was essentially a collection of nobodies and Johhny-come-latelies from the 'burbs, and heaviy from Lake County - not one of your classsi football hotbeds for sure.  The sixteen teams had a total of, I believe, 132 playoff appearances between them - to 282 from the two Southern quads.  The upper bracket had one titlist - and with only one championship.  Down South (Including far west and near-south bubbies) there were numerous past winners, several with multiple championships.

Personally, I believe any of the QUARTERfinalists (and some second round losers) in the Southern Quads would have rolled rigt through the Northern bracket.

I hope your right, OldFan. Notwithstanding their opposition, Lemont has not given up many points this year ( less than 110 including the playoffs). I also hope the Cyclones have had tougher competion throughout the year and the playoffs, because there have been a few games in which SHG has given up more points than was comfortable.

All....The low amount of points by Lemont is due to their ball control clock eating offense. If the Cycs are to win they can't let them burn up huge chunks of time. Same story different team.... Ratsy P.S. And yes they do have a good defense but they love to play keep away with the ball.

This team might compare favorably to Bloomington H.S. Great athletes with a stud running back and a solid defense. Just my opinion.  gocycs.gif  gocycs.gif  gocycs.gif

Sounds like it wouldn't hurt to get up on them by a couple of scores. Like last week with Lantz hurting, it would be nice to see other players step up. My wish: Adrian takes a couple of slant passes to the house and John Lantz or Greg Wilson takes one back on a kickoff (at the start of the game or the second half kickoff, of course. We don't want them kicking-off other than that, RIGHT EVERYBODY?)

It's a nice wish, but a one point win counts just the same as a running clock. I do remember the Indians getting DEVASTATED by JCA last year in the final. ANything is possible with our defense.  gocycs.gif  gocycs.gif  gocycs.gif
