Not sure I am ready to rearrange my perceptions just yet but, a couples coaches and fan bases just took out their schedules to see how many games they think are winnable. Southeast, Lanphier and both Decatur schools suddenly look better than most thought after week 1 (some by a lot).

Since the LHS/JHS game ended late there was nothing in the paper about the game but I heard Lanphier  was running the ball well. When was the last time that SE and Lanphier both scored over 40 points and won on the same night?

Saw the TV highlights, all 12 seconds, and it looked like Lanphier had a big dude running the ball, tho it was a fumble recovery and it could've been a lineman that picked it up. Anyway, way to go Lanphier. I had given them up for dead. Congratulations coaches and players.

Ultimately, with no room for out of conference games in the schedule, I hope teams like Lanphier, Southeast, and the Decatur schools can bring the speed that will prepare SHG for the playoffs...much like Cahokia did years ago.

I heard most of the second half.  Lanphier has good size with a couple of big backs and  Jax' smallish sefense coudn't stop them untill late in the fourth (Lanphier may have gone onto protective mode).  Lions racked up nearly 500 yards, less than 30 through the air.  Jax even threw their big D1 OT, Megginson, in but LHS mostly just ran around him.

According to Jacksonville Coach Grounds, the Lanphier QB Jared Griffin is just electric running the ball with his great speed.

It looks like week three will be the next interesting night depending on what happens. Southeast plays Chatham, Lanphier plays Rochester and Jacksonville possibly could end the night at 0-3.
