All.... New Lenox Providence is now 0-2 losing to Oswego 14-13. They have not even started conference play in the CCL Blue one of the best in the State. The Celtics have (among others) Chicago Mt. Carmel and Loyola coming up in future play. One can bet their coaching staff is now in must win mode. If NLP ends up 5=4 some unlucky 9-0 team will draw them in round one of the playoffs. Ratsy

It seems like Montini's 3 wins have been pretty impressive. How do these results stack up to prior years?

I'd say Providence's chances of making the playoffs are on life support.  They need to win five of these six:  Aurora Marmion, St. Rita, Loyola, Bishop Mac, Brother Rice and Lake Forest Academy

I believe Marion CC was the 2006 State Championship Rat. Anyway they surprised a lot of people, especially after Naz jumped in front 19-0 and then gave up 34 unanswered points.

All.... Yes indeed brother OSU that Marian/SHG game was 2006 one of my all time favorite Cyclone players Keenan Gilpen was a beast in that game.  I believe he is now a chiropractor in town.

I was reading some "spirited" discussion on Edgy's board this morning on the Marian/Naz game. Naz fans maintain that the loss was greatly influenced by wet field conditions in Woodstock. I guess they feel the strength of their team is speed and finesse which was greatly hampered. Ratsy

The field conditions didn't stop them from jumping out to a 19-0 lead and then not scoring another point.

ALL..... New Lenox (Providence) is eliminated from the playoffs with their fifth loss losing to Bishop Mac 24-14. Last years 7A champion who bounced this season back and forth between 6A and 7A in the IHSA playoff outlook likely will finish 3-6. Ratsy

Wow some swing.  From being the 6A preseason favorite (in some minds, anyway) to what's likely one of their worst seasons in modern history.
