Hard to find out a lot about a suburban school (if you can call Aurora suburban), especially when they have little newspaper coverage.

From what I've read, they've got a tough QB who hangs in on every down. This quality lends itself to making plays most h.s. QBs don't, but also subjects him to sacks. They do like to throw long. In short situations, he keeps the ball.

They beat Montini by a point in a game in which the Broncos lost their QB late and had both two TDs called back for holding and two crucial late hits out of bounds.

They also only have 33 players on their roster, when fully healthy. That's all I have for now.

Not that we’re talking about the same thing exactly, but didn’t the Cyclones have to beat an unusually tough 5-4 Providence team to get to the state championship game in 2006? They were 5-4, but they had played a brutal Catholic League schedule, including a game against St. Rita who took home the crown in a higher class that year. I wonder if this will be a deceptively tough game.

I'm not the best at locating such info in the archives, or perhaps too lazy, but the only 5-4 Providence team I remember was the one that came into Memorial Stadium (Springfield) and whooped us. No championship that year.

I recall them beating us in the title game at ISU and our beating them in the semis(?)in a Dondanville/Lantz era game at their place much more recently, but they didn't sneak up on anybody that year. They were real good.

Your point, however, about how tough a 6-4 Marmion team with that schedule could be, however, is spot on.

All.... Sounds like holding onto the ball will be the order of the day. The weather has changed. A high of 48 with rain the entire day. The Cadets have a nice facility but they do play on grass. If that forecast holds it's going to be very messy. Ratsy

All.... Continues to look like rain before, during, and after the game Saturday with temps in the mid to upper 40's.  The field is grass, might be a bit sloppy depending on how well the field has been kept up. We will see. Ratsy

I'm bringing rain gear, but the 24 hour precip forecast from 6pm tonight forward shows no green over Aurora. Sunday, yes.
