There's a New Angel in Heaven Today

May your transition be glorious.

Marmion Academy

Hard to find out a lot about a suburban school (if you can call Aurora suburban), especially when they have little newspaper coverage.

From what I've read, they've got a tough QB who hangs in on every down. This quality lends itself to making plays most h.s. QBs don't, but also subjects him to sacks. They do like to throw long. In short situations, he keeps the ball.

They beat Montini by a point in a game in which the Broncos lost their QB late and had both two TDs called back for holding and two crucial late hits out of bounds.

They also only have 33 players on their roster, when fully healthy. That's all I have for now.

Eisenhower at SHG

The boys looked pretty sharp tonight. Eisenhower has thrown in the towel, but we still played very well. Our backs look as healthy as at any time this year, running right thru the Generals. Only remember a couple pass attempts.

Not a great test, but perhaps a good back to back boost.

Top Notch Coaching, Class 1A Stadium

Rochester has what, 6 or 7 State Championships? One of the finest coaches in the state, if not the best? Isn't it time they added a couple sections of bleachers to the visitors side? In fact, they could use more bleachers on the home side.

And the whining on every single call, like somebody stole their Halloween candy. I guess they were lucky enough to land Derek Leonard, but you can't take the Rochester out of Rochester.

Rochester vs SHG

Congratulations to Rochester. They have a very good team. They were also very well prepared and extremely confident. On the other hand, our guys spent the first two thirds of the game looking at each other. Hats off to Derek Leonard.

It's pretty sad when you have two D1 backs on the same team and the Oline can't produce a hundred yards, let alone a single yard when we need it. Didn't help that we have three backs in the secondary that don't know the ball is in the air until it's caught. That just about sums it up.
